Will check it out, by the way the red images have not updated yet for the specified time so I will check FITS.

Pretty sure it will make it. It just brightened out of nowhere

There is also a chance that this comet is Kreutz IIa, so the survival chance to reach C2 maybe better? Regards, Worachate Boonplod

I think your report is of a real object, I see it at 2206 at 670 740. But the evolution of it is rather odd,

Curses.... But good job. (If it is real, I have just been defeated to it).

Hello all,
I see a possible Kreutz comet in C3 here. Images: C3; 1024x1024 images. (0,0) Upper Left. 2021-10-07 2018 690 760 2030 688 758 2118 680 752 2130 678 750 2142 676 747 I would like to note that this comet is moving along predicted Kreutz III path. If real, it may be destroyed before reaching C2. Regards, Worachate Boonplod

Re: Non group Soho candidate report
Peter Berrett
I just posted a non-group report from
24 June 2018 (I am sure ts a real comet).
I checked for a report of this. Rainer
Kracht is registered as having reported a Marsden comet on that
day but the only record I could find of such a report was actually
on the 21st. He called his report a non-group comet.
What I think has happened is that he has reported a non-group comet on the 21st and Karl has classified this as a Marsden. Rainer's report was confirmed but I could not find any non-group or Marsden comet listed on the 21st. So I believe my report has a good
chance of being new.
For the record my comet is moving outwards in a northwest direction (upwards and to the left away from the Sun). cheers Peter

The archive Kreutz I have found were all very faint, and some would be very easy to miss. This is something for the trained eye, I am afraid your script cannot pull out the faintest Kreutz. If a Kreutz you see is rather obvious, 99% of the time, it'll be a known object. In an era where Worachate and Masanori find most of the Kreutz, it is rare for one to escape. Yet again, crazy things have happened and I do not fully understand how some of my archive Kreutz were never reported before.

The only Soho kreutz I have ever found was my very first one in 2013. Everything else has been Meyer, Marsden, Kracht or Non group. Cheers Peter
